Saint Michel, Blosseville
Saint Michael the Archangel is the patron of the sailors in Normandy. Myth goes that in 708 he instructed bishop of Avranches to build a church on a rocky island now known as Mount Saint-Michel.
This statue of Saint Michael can be found in the small church of the village Blosseville. In Renaissance style, he's depicted as a pround angel in magnificent armour with grand wings, holding a spear subdueing the devil.
The church itself is a highly recommended visit. It's very organic of structure, expanded over time without a set plan. A very basic and unpolished interior makes it a real atmospheric decor.
